How to Fuliza Mpesa, Charges and Repayment
Fuliza is an overdraft loan that allows Mpesa users to complete Mpesa transactions; pay for goods and services and send money when they have insufficient funds in their Mpesa. Fuliza overdraft loan is repayable within 30 days from the disbursement date. This service is a partnership between Safaricom and the Commercial Bank of Africa.
You can get fuliza overdraft loan of up to Ksh 70,000. The interest rate for fuliza loan is 1.2% of the outstanding balance. In this article, I will show you how to fuliza and repay the loan.
How to Activate Fuliza
To start accessing fuliza service, you need to activate it first. To do so:
- Dial *234#
- Select 0 for "Fuliza Mpesa"
- Select 1 for "Yes"
- Enter 1 to accept terms and conditions
How to Use Fuliza
You can use fuliza to complete Mpesa transactions when you have insufficient balance in your Mpesa. You can send money to registered and unregistered Mpesa users. You can also use it to make payments through “Lipa na Mpesa.”
However, you need to be aware that even though you can send fuliza funds to other Mpesa users, you cannot withdraw fuliza funds from your line. If you want to withdraw fuliza funds, you can send funds to another Safaricom line and withdraw from there. Be aware that fuliza charges will apply.

How to Repay Fuliza Overdraft Loan
Fuliza loan is repayable within 30 days from the disbursement date. The outstanding fuliza balance will be automatically deducted from your Mpesa when you receive or load money into your Mpesa account.
If you don’t repay fuliza overdraft within 30 days, Safaricom will terminate the service and until you repay the loan in full. It will also take measures to recover the amount you have defaulted.

The following fuliza Mpesa charges will apply.

How to Increase Fuliza Loan Limit
If you want to increase your fuliza loan limit, you need to continue using Mpesa services. You must also repay your Fuliza Mpesa loans on time at all times.
